As a Red Cross certified Lifeguard for the past 16 years I believe in teaching children to respect and enjoy water at a very young age. Adult and/or lifeguard supervision when swimming at any age is the key element of water safety.
Experience:
My past work experience includes managing swimming pools in Scotia and Wolbach, Nebraska; Aquatics Director at the indoor/outdoor Denison Aquatic Fun Center in Denison, Iowa; and Operations Manager of Star City Shores in Lincoln, Nebraska the first 2 years the facility was open
(1996-1997). In each of these positions, I taught many swimming lessons.

Curriculum:
These classes are set up to help infants and toddlers and all children to float on their back. They will learn to breathe by rolling onto their fronts
and then rolling to their backs again. This method can give children
additional seconds that may save their lives in a water emergency.
The first skill taught will be the back float, progressing to rolling to their
front and swimming to the side, and then moving in and out of the water
comfortably. Once children are comfortable back floating, elementary
backstroke, front crawl and back crawl are introduced. Additional
swimming skills including sidestroke, breast stroke and treading water
are also developed.
All lessons are taught in a 1 on 1 environment, lessons are 15 minutes in length. This allows me to focus all of my attention on your child and
making sure they are becoming comfortable in the water
and learning lifelong swimming skills.
I ask all students to wear a swim cap or an ear band with ear plugs
to protect their ears during lessons. I provide these at each
child's lesson.
Smiles, giggles, singing and lots of encouragement are a vital element of each lesson. I want your child to have a comfortable atmosphere that enables them to have fun and appreciate the water.
